Battle of the Nations 2015

After a long long time I'm back. I have to apologise I've been quiet for so long, but I had too many worries. The university which I attend will be canceled. I have neither a job nor another school. And in this atmosphere me and Marek are planning our wedding. It's just difficult. But the fact that we have some problems doesn't mean we're sitting at home in depression.
Last week, Prague hosted the Battle of the Nations - four-days-long World Tournament at the Historical Medieval Battle. It took place on a beautiful Prague's hill Petřín. Unfortunately we couldn't visit it every day, but we came at least the last day to see the finale. I don't know anything about the historical battle, I'll have to study it carefully. The only thing I can tell you is that almost everything (including women's categories) have won the Russians. Damn, we have to beat them at least in the ice hockey :D.

To the event belonged a large tribune and also the historic camp full of colourful tents where warriors were staying. There was a lovely atmosphere - the participants of the Battle of the Nations came from 35 countries. There was also the historic market in the camp, where mostly foreign stallholders were selling their goods. The whole event so much resembled rich historical events in Germany more than weaker Czech variants. Remembering the historic village at the Wave Gotik Treffen I must say that this market was smaller, but otherwise very similar. Foreign dealers always ensure that their stalls look nice not only from the inside, but also outside, they wear historic costumes and I greatly appreciate it.
The day was sunny, trees and bushes bloomed beautifully, it was warm, the beer was cold and the air smelled of spice, grilled meat and flowers. This is paradise for me :).

Czech team

So many different flags - participants arrived for example from Argentina, Mexico, Finland or Israel

Tribune from the outside and my outfit: Top and corset - vinted.cz, skirt - Stradivarius, boots - New Rock, necklace - Jablonex, coat - Brixton

Two small boys fighting with soft weapons - so cute that I had to make a photo secretly. They were so small that they almost couldn't walk, holding their soft fake swords :D. One of them hid under his shield and refused to come out :D.

That day was an ice hockey match - Czechs against Germans. We wanted to stay at the Battle of the Nations but also we wanted to see the game so we made a compromise - when hockey started, we bought beer and sausages at the stall and we watched hockey on the phone with headphones :D.

Why not :D

Of course, we bought a lot of beautiful things - a replica of historical goblet (Loštický pohár), silver ring with a dragon head, a bracelet, a leather belt and a set of beer specials with historical figures on the labels from the company Warhorse Studios (which otherwise makes computer games).
